I wrote this in one of FB groups and I think it’s worth to remind from time to time when sometimes things get twisted and might kick us all back:
Stop buying presas when you already have other dogs and have no clue what to do when they stop getting along together!
If you think you can handle a pack cool! But plan B is not rehoming the dog! It’s the most selfish and stupid thing one can do. Stop thinking somebody else is going to get the problem solved for you. Be a responsible adult and act like one and make smart well thought of decisions. Dog is for life!
Presas are powerful breed, they have possibility to get along together in SOME situations (male plus female and SOMETIMES female plus female and NEVER male plus male) if you have experience and know it might not work and you will have to SEPARATE your dogs later – not get rid of trouble.
Presa might kill another dog, even a powerful one. Presa will accidently kill your small dog in a spare moment, even if they do get along with each other just because you did something stupid that triggered reaction (if presa corrects another presa it will be correction, might end up in fight. If your presa corrects your small dog it’s dead on spot and even your presa might be depressed after because it might not have intended to do so – your fault!) Think before and don’t listen to some weirdos claiming this are such gentle giants. This are not. They can be under supervision and there happen to be dogs with little drive but they’re minority and don’t represent the breed. It’s not all how you raise them. Even those social, calm dogs sometimes can show you deep down they’re skilled fighters.
