How to choose
a puppy
To choose good presa pup we must ask
ourselves a question – for what we want this dog. Does it have to be
working or show dog? It’s not easy to choose the best one, but there are
some things that can show us that this pup can bee good dog in the
future. Firstly good pup is the one with good character and
temperament. It’s the pup that is confident and anxious of surrounding
world. Pups that are behaving aggressively or are cowardly are not what
a good presa-pup should be. Older, few months old dogs can be of course
little suspicious when it comes to strangers but never like I said
before it should never behave aggressively or cowardly. Good pup will be
happy and friendly and will be intelligent.
Good pup will be the one that is in
good shape, his belly is nice and round, his hair and shiny, his eyes
are clear. Good pup moves easily, it doesn’t “jump” or limp when it’s
walking.
Good pup is the one that is
proportional, has big head and wide and deep chest. His nose is wide and
he’s eyes are set widely and are of correct shape (slightly oval). Ears
are set wide and high and of correct color (different shades of brown,
depending on color of dog). Pup should be little longer than high in
shoulders. His brown structure should be strong. His paws should be
straight and with good angles. Paws should be proportional to the rest
off the body, never to short or to long. His skin should be elastic,
coat in good coloring and pigmentation. Bite in scissors.
